Employee Feedback is an Effective Motivational Incentive

While most cars run on gasoline, all businesses run on employees. And today, most business owners realize the importance of motivating employees through recognition. All employees want to know they are a valued member of the company they work for.

Feeling like a “faceless cog” will sap the life out of employees. This in turn will affect employee morale and productivity. Under these circumstances, strategies to motivate employees should be on employers and managers’ must do list.

While there are a number of incentives that can foster workplace engagement and satisfaction, employee involvement, having a voice, is one of the most effective tools.

Lisa Wojtkowiak, a client relationship manager, puts it very aptly, “We don't recruit engaged employees. Engaged employees are created." She adds, "It's our job to engage our employees from Day One."

Allowing employees to feel that management or the company leaders value their input, creates a sense of value and involvement; the employee feels like part of the company team, part of the solutions. "Those who are highly engaged or motivated will be better at their job," explained Howard Deutsch, CEO of a New Jersey survey and consulting company, to Inc. Magazine.

One such ‘involvement’ strategy is a company survey. Research shows that obtaining employee feedback through surveys is a win-win situation. The employer gets much needed insight into the company’s workforce, and the employee feels valued.

There are many employee incentives that businesses can implement; surveys are just one of them. Comprehensive incentive programs don’t come in a one-size-fits-all package; each company needs to analyze their options, and possibly succeed with a trial and error approach.
